About Us

Gourmet Kingdom was founded in 2021 by Corey Feith.  Corey and the GK crew grow all of our species in Leadville, CO at an elevation of 9,944 ft.  Corey has always had a passion for cooking and bringing friends and family together over his favorite recipes. He honed his own craft and grew an appreciation for fine culinary innovation from two decades in the restaurant industry of Summit County, CO.  In his leisure time, Corey enjoys all the splendors of nature: he is an experienced fly fisherman, back-packer, snowboarder, and home agriculturist.  He has been cultivating indoor and outdoor plants, herbs, and vegetables throughout his entire life.  

In 2020, Corey was inspired to learn more about mycology - the study of mushrooms - and fully indulged himself in gaining knowledge about the kingdom of fungi.  Intrigued by the health benefits, unique grow process, and culinary range, Corey quickly set up a lab to begin his own grow operation.  And now he is a mycological enthusiast, tending to his produce daily and dedicating himself to continuous learning.

Gourmet Kingdom began selling its mushrooms to local restaurants in Frisco, CO in 2021.  After growing pains and increased demand, GK renovated a new space to allow for greater production.  In the summer of 2024, GK relaunched and began selling in local markets, to restaurants, and at its very own farm stand in Leadville. 

We operate out of a meticulously clean, private laboratory and grow space. GK is a comprehensive operation; we nurture our mushrooms from microscopic spores all the way to the compostable package you will receive. We maintain our own ever-growing culture library of mushroom species, growing seasonally appropriate selections. We make our own sterilized grain spawn and ultra-pasteurized substrate. We also, lovingly and carefully, grow, harvest, package, and deliver the mushrooms to you!   Materials used for cultivation are locally sourced where possible, and production relies heavily on local relationships.
